Steve Jobs explains iTunes 10 & Ping: the new social media.

Everybody wants Steve Jobs to speak and join the social media community.

What does he do? He creates one with his most cherished apps: iTunes and makes YOU go to HIM. (MacRumors article and Free Download)

Would you build an iTunes Ping profile?

Below is Steve Jobs keynote address, the video features Lady Gaga welcoming new users to Ping. It's very hard to hear what she has to say... perhaps that's just a ploy to get her "little monsters"to her new Ping site.

I've got a profile... but I'm not confident how fast this will catch on.

Most social media techies are looking to merge social sites, not add another one to the list.

So far I haven't come across a good way to promote an iTunes Ping account.

You have to search for everyone, either by name or email.

That's pretty limiting.
New social sites know its all about what you can search and how you can find things.

iTunes Ping seems to just want you to buy more albums (this isn't breaking news), getting sales by attracting you first to Katy Perry and Yoko Ono status updates.

So where is the original Ping.fm technology? Is there a relationship?

Ping.fm Gets Boost Thanks to Apple's Ping, Company Claims

Lastly.. the new iTunes10 icon is part of a revamp, I'm not really a fan of the new icon, it kinda mismatches everything, so Mashable teaches you how to change it in "10 replacement icons to be released to re-beautify your iTunes10"...Pretty and interesting...will we see more revamped icons in the future?

Stay tuned and keep connected...

A Brand New Start

I'm moving!

From beautiful Walkerville to downtown Windsor- couldn't be a better time in my life to make the change.

Windsor is at turning point...

The Summer festivals are beginning and now that the hoopla of Red Bull Air Races (whew! and wowzers! ) are over, we can focus on a long list of community events that highlight Windsor and Essex County.

Like the Carousel of Nations-- a local crowd favourite showcasing multiculturalism in a celebration of food, dancing and sick bazaar shopping, which tends to include the out of place but ever existent-- novelty t-shirts, henna/airbrush tattoos and big dude shirtless with a sexy potbelly.

The Carousel of Nations will happen every weekend for the rest of June, featuring hot spots around the city, like the ever-pleasing Caribbean Village on Central Ave and my fave German Village at 55 Edinborough.

With the World Cup soon to be underway, Windsor's sure to see a lot of cultural pride and full bars, as beer will begin to be served at 10 a.m. during FIFA matches.

If you're looking for something other than an Erie Street experience, check out The Manchester on Ouellette.

I am not into soccer but beer at 10 a.m. makes me think of Vegas and we are considered the Canadian Sin City.. might as well hit up the bars early and stay late, maybe check out the new Symbol night club across from Starbucks...

I'll keep you posted....
